Once you land in Nepal expecting it to be a tourist destination and a fun filled place. Sadly it is not going to be that. The place is super duper expensive and full of dirt. The infrastructure is really bad too. At the start itself my suggestion is DO NOT EVEN PLAN A VACATION IN NEPAL.
At the airport you have this beautiful Lord Buddha’s statue to welcome you. Its a very silent airport and you should straight proceed to your place of stay. A mere 5 kms distance can easily cost you INR 1500
Next morning get up and visit the Pashupati Nath temple. The famous Hindu temple or Lord Shiva.
Followed by that, you should visit another temple called Boudhnath. This temple is very scenic. The views are beautiful.
I didnt knew the significance of such a huge bell which is there. But this was really beautiful.
This is a constantly burning Dhuni kept in front. People who come to visit the temple keep it burning.
These Buddhist prayer wheels are such exciting. It is places all over the temples. Anyone who walks by them just rolls them. It is believed, that once they are rolled, the prayers flow into the cosmos.
The temples have this gold architecture on top.
The building have these beautiful gold architecture on them. One just cannot stop clicking those.
Next in line is to visit Darbar Square. This is the place which was destroyed due to natural calamity. Now a lot of buildings under construction. This is where the king used to be initially.
The pic below somehow reminded me of the movie 300. So I decided to click it. The dramatic effects on the background came out really well.
Another bell spotted. This was though on top of a building at Darbar Square.
The windows here are so beautiful. Such nice carvings too.
The weather that day was lovely. It gave a chance for nice captures.
Another temple in line is called Swyambhunath.
This statue was such a delight. The surrounding, the backdrop, the color made it look even more beautiful.
And yet again anther huge bell at this temple too.
This pic does not needs an explanation. If you are in that part of the world. This is a mandatory pic. 🙂
Ok I liked this shot a lot. It has all the ingredients of a perfect shot. Such different color combinations. I just couldnt resist.
From the top of Swambhunath, you can have a view of entire Kathmandu.
The monastery at the top of a high mountain surrounded by clouds looks really beautiful
After visiting these places in Kathmandu, you can also visit another place called Pokhara. It is similar to what we have as Shimla. Although the people of Nepal hype it so much as if it is one place out of the world. But nothing great here either.
The Annapoorna ranges can be viewed from the top of a hill. There is short climb that one has to do manually. You can try to go and watch the sun rise there, but during rainy season all of it is covered in clouds.
This was my favorite temple there. It is called the Bindya Basini Temple. It has temples of different Gods and one should make sure to visit this place.
At the same place is this Shiva temple. The Trishool here keep rotating. It looks mesmerizing.
This is the main temple of Bindya Basini.
Then on the way back, you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes.
The scenic beauty is limited to very specific places only.
And remember remember remember. On the way back to India, the plane flies over the mighty Himalayas. Make sure you do not miss clicking those breathtaking mountains.
Although the images are really picturesque. But remember my initial words. This place is not worth wasting your money and time. The roads are full of dirt. Bad infrastructure. Super expensive city. Traveling within the city is so difficult because the cabs are damn expensive. There are no tourist spots that you can visit.
It will keep frustrating the hell out of you. This place can never give you, your value for money. Its better to spend that money in a different location and enjoy.
Lastly, even if you still planning to vist Nepal. Book a mini bus and travel by road. Travel by Air is going to be really costly.
Though, I hope you enjoyed the clicks.
